Miami’s Rick Ross was integral part this year at the Haiti stop of the annual Starfest Multi-Cultural Music Festival, which drew an estimated 500,000 fans. The star-studded event was founded to enthrall Caribbean and other international music fans with music sets featuring the best artists in the realms of Zouk, Compa, Reggae, Jazz, R&B, and Hip-Hop. Adding to the music are parties, art exhibits, talents shows, food, and cultural awareness events. Also, Starfest brings an additional educational element by illuminating the issues of the Caribbean community. According to festival founder and president DJ Louis, Ross received a huge reception for his performance despite being the only big name Hip-Hop act on the bill, which featured international stars such as Black Dada, Shabba Dkakout, Chale Republik, and RockFam. “This was truly for a great cause which made it even more beautiful, but it also speaks as a global movement that is more than just about the music,” Louis explained to AllHipHop.com in a prepared statement. “Along with Ross, we visited hospitals, several boys and girls group homes, and showed love to the men in duty in Haiti. It is a true blessing for the Starfest team to see the results in motion.”

Detroit rapper Trick Trick has never shied away from confronting fellow MCs on wax or in the streets to handle unresolved issues. However, the controversial rapper now has his sights aimed at an unlikely target; the entire gay community. In an exclusive statement to AllHipHop.com, Trick Trick expressed his disgust of the homosexual lifestyle, and explained that he doesn’t want any gay individuals to purchase his newly released sophomore album, The Villian. “I’ma go on the record right now with this. Homosexuals are probably not gonna like this album,” Trick revealed to AllHipHop.com. “I don’t want your f**got money any goddamn way. I don’t like it [homosexuality]. Carry that s**t somewhere else.” On the self-titled album track called "Trick Trick," the Detroit rapper hurls vitriolic bars against gay activists Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O’Donnell, referring to them as “dyke b**ches” and promising to send a “scud missile right through their f***ing cruise ship.” “It’s just that every time that you turn on the TV, that sissy s**t is on,” Trick told AllHipHop.com. “And I address that issue. I address it hard as hell.”

Members of the Gay and Lesbian Hip-Hop community have responded in droves to rapper Trick Trick’s recent unprovoked verbal attack. Like many others, they were surprised by the inflammatory comments made by the Detroit artist regarding their lifestyle on his latest album. During an interview to promote the album The Villain on Tuesday (November 11), Trick Trick shared his disdain for the homosexual lifestyle in a statement that referred to gays and lesbians in several derogatory slurs. The statements were perceived by many as a publicity stunt, especially since they did not seem to be provoked by any one particular incident. Los Angeles-based actor/ rapper and self-proclaimed “Homo Thug” Deadlee was not phased by Trick Trick’s taunts, nor threats. “My first thought is to get crazy and warn him that this f**got will kick his ass -- but I am so on Cloud 9 with Obama winning, and the way he did it," Deadlee told AllHipHop.com. "Obama was called a terrorist, unpatriotic, and the entire time kept his cool, I so wish I was like that. I know who I am and my self worth that I really don't give a f**k who or what a Trick Trick has to say. There is still a lot of hate against gays, and a Trick Trick just perpetuates the hate

Chicago rapper Bump J. has been arrested by federal officials for allegedly robbing a Chicago-area bank in 2007. Bump J., born Terrance Boykin, was arrested and taken into custody following a routine traffic stop earlier this week. Police accuse Bump J. and another associate of robbing a Chase Bank branch at gunpoint on January 2007. The pair entered the bank, announced a robbery was in place and emptied the bank of more than $100,000 dollars. No one was injured in the robbery, which was captured on surveillance cameras. Bump J. was indicted on one count each of bank robbery and violation of federal firearms statues. He is currently being held without bond at the Carbondale Police Department, awaiting extradition to Chicago. Bump J., who has worked with artists like Kanye West, Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz, Rhymefest and others, now faces up to 20 years in prison if he is convicted. His most recent mixtape release is named Dinner Time, while his latest single is titled “Chevy Fresh Out.” The other man who participated in the robbery remains at large.
