Annual Classic weekend.. Orlando FL,
Club Icon, and pics of folks we
ran into. The Florida Classic is
a premiere football games between two
historically black colleges in
the United States. The game matches
the Florida A&M University
Rattlers of Tallahassee against
Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats
of Daytona Beach. For many,
the football game takes a back seat
to the halftime show, which features
the two schools' world-renown
marching bands. Bethune-Cookman's
Marching Wildcats were featured in
the movie Drumline, a look at
black college "show bands"
known for their funky drumbeats,
high-stepping dance moves and
acrobatics. The series began in 1925
with Florida A&M winning 25-0.
It has been played in many venues
